 Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway

The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is a major infrastructure project designed to connect the western and southeastern regions of Nigeria, running along the Atlantic coast. The highway passes through Ogun, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River States, linking numerous towns and coastal communities along the way

The project aims to reduce travel time, improve trade, and stimulate economic growth in southern Nigeria

Construction began in March 2024, with the first phase covering 47.47 kilometers from Victoria Island to Eleko Village in the Lekki Peninsula

As of May 2025, about 18 kilometers of the road are ready for use, with ongoing work to complete the full 700 kilometers

The highway is being built using Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement to ensure durability, and the estimated cost is N7.5 billion per kilometer
